I have three followers!

So it's been exactly a working week since I signed my life away for the rest of the year and two days since I started this blog and I have three followers. I’m not exactly sure what a follower is, after all I would still describe myself as a blog virgin. As flattered as I am, it has set the pressure that people will actually be reading this and expecting...

Expecting what? I’m not quite sure. This was meant to be a diary of my trip and it has already turned into an auto biography! Being dyslexic and trying to write an auto biography is a challenge in its self!

I am five days in and I think I am the only positive one. Every time I ring my mother to tell her how much money I have on my justgiving page, I get what are you going to eat (I have suffered with an eating disorder all my life - called fussy eater syndrome). The next conversation will remind me about the injections I will have to have. She still remembers the day I embarrassed her when I threw up in Queen Alexandra hospital in Portsmouth, after seeing her have blood tests, oh then there was the time at school after the measles jabs, again the list goes on. I'm sure she will soon resort to desperate measures and say 'you know you have to poo in a bush' something I couldn't ever imagine my up- right mother saying!

I don’t blame them; it is still a shock to me. Like I said in my last blog Vickie from Bognor Regis would definitely not do a thing like this! But I think Victoria from London definitely would! I do think, I have had the amount of support I have already due to this new adventurous me, my brother summed it up well ‘here’s £200 because this isn’t you!’. Maybe it is me, maybe thinking I could settle down at 23 wasn’t me – it’s quite laughable now I look back to seven months ago! What was I thinking, this is the time to enjoy life and conquer challenges and have amazing experiences and do things for others because I don’t have any one else to think about!

I think the kindness of people has really shown in the last week. I have already got £565 on my justgiving page! It’s amazing – I feel slightly guilty but I think I have to get over that if I am to raise the £3500 that I need! I have already been given a voucher by Fontwell Race Course for two tickets to the racing next year, I have also been emailing another company about the prospects of donating a prize, all to be auctioned off to raise even more money!

It has dawned on me what a busy year this is going to be. I am due to start my marketing exams in a few months, I also will be finishing my Brownie Leadership Qualification – which is no easy task, raise a lot of money, start training for the trip and I have to work full time...but I can’t wait!
